Before you visit
The Srebrenica genocide of July 1995 was the worst atrocity in Europe since the Second World War, recognised as genocide by international courts. The Memorial Center documents what happened through exhibitions, films and the stories of families. Allow time; many visitors find it a difficult and important day.
Every year on 11 July, a commemoration and burial of newly identified victims takes place here. Visits on that day are possible but the site is very crowded.
