- Jun–Sep
- How long
- 1–3 days
- From Sarajevo
- ≈ 3.5 h by car
What to see
- Pebble beaches and clear water
- Sunset over Pelješac and the Mali Ston bay
- Hutovo Blato nature park, a wetland for birds, inland
- Oysters in Ston, just across the border in Croatia
What to expect
Neum is a resort town built on a steep hillside, so most hotels and apartments have sea views but some walks to the beach are long. The water is calm and good for swimming from June to September.
Good to know
- Leaving or entering Neum by road means crossing the Croatian border; carry your passport.
- Inland, Hutovo Blato is one of the largest wetlands in the region and a stop for migrating birds.
Practical information
- Getting there
On the Adriatic coastal road between Split and Dubrovnik. Since 2022 the Pelješac Bridge lets Croatian traffic bypass Neum, so the town is quieter outside summer.
- Tickets
Beaches are free; hotels rent loungers and umbrellas.
- Parking
